The Merced River lining El Capitan in the background and light snowfall covering the rocks and trees that frame the scene. This is a shot I had wanted for years, I had already been fortunate enough to capture it in the spring with golden hour light, but I wanted snow. This time in Yosemite, I got it. The haze was a nice addition and pull this scene together as the light started to shine on the clouds. If you want to feel small, get this printed big and put your self in at the foot of El Capitan, that 7,573’ (3,000’ from the valley floor) granite beauty is something to lose yourself in.
