Taken from the outskirts of the sand dunes within Great Sand Dunes National Park in Southern Colorado. Golden hour light shining throughout the scene creating some dramatic side lighting. The shadows really complete this image and show the depth of the dunes and Rocky Mountains in the background. The dunes cover 150,000 acres of land and they appear and reappear very fast. Experiencing this park in person is special and you can even rent “sand boards” to shred down the dunes.
